    GENERAL PRODUCT QUESTIONS

Our teas and tinctures are all formulated with only certified organic ingredients. Our essential oil roll-ons are formulated with certified organic and ethically wild-crafted ingredients.

While we only use USDA certified organic ingredients in our teas and tinctures, we haven’t yet gone through the certification process ourselves. It’s something we aim to do as we grow though, so stay tuned!

While all of are ingredients are inherently free of gluten, they are not certified gluten-free. Dandelion leaf and oat straw are two ingredients we use that are considered high-risk of cross contamination with wheat, barley, and rye during harvest. Folks with celiac disease are encouraged to only consume products that have been certified gluten-free.

Customer safety is our top priority. We have systems in place to ensure we are following Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and our own guidelines. This includes documentation of every step, from sourcing our ingredients, to receiving the shipment, to manufacturing the product, to it arriving to your door, we follow these guidelines we have set in place. If you want more information, please reach out to us at hello@relyt.co

Relyt was founded by a Western herbalist and all products are formulated with herbalism at it’s core. This means the formulas are made with knowledge of the plants.

We ethically source our certified organic ingredients from an organic family-owned farm in Applegate, Oregon as well as a supplier in Northern California. Our supplier purchases directly from growers around the world to ensure the highest integrity, consistency, and quality. They are then thoroughly lab tested for authenticity and safety.

We aim for sustainability, so our loose-leaf tea jars are reusable+recyclable glass with an aluminum lid. We offer a refill-pouch to both save our customers money, and reduce waste. Our tea bags are made out of plastic-free, plant-based Soilon®

    TEAS

We offer herbal (tisanes), black, and green tea. Primarily herbal, as our products are rooted in herbalism, but you will find some other options too! Our teas also come in loose-leaf and in plant-based pyramid tea bags.

Preparation varies by blend. To prepare herbal tea, simply steep 1/2 - 1 TBSP of dried herbs or 1 tea bag per cup of boiling water for 5-20 minutes. For black teas steep 1 tsp tea leaves or 1 tea bag per cup of 185-212 degree water for 3-4 minutes, and for green tea steep 1 tsp tea leaves or 1 tea bag for cup of 160 degree water for 1-3 minutes. Adjust the steeping time based on personal preference and the specific blend you're using. If you desire a stronger infusion add more herb/tea leaf as opposed to steeping longer than recommended as steeping longer can make the brew bitter.

Loose-leaf tea is tea that isn’t pre-bagged. Often people find that loose-leaf can offer more flavor and prefer it to tea bags.

Using a tea infuser, tea ball, or French press, add the appropriate amount of tea and water and infuse. Compost the leftover tea material after use.

Absolutely! Mixing different herbs allows you to create unique flavor profiles and maximize the health benefits. However, if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, on prescription medication, or have any pre-existing conditions, it’s important to research and consult with a healthcare professional and ensure the herbs you're combining are safe.

While herbal teas are generally safe, it's important to note that some herbs may interact with medications or have specific contraindications. If you have any health concerns or are taking medications, consult with a healthcare professional before incorporating herbal teas into your routine.

It's essential for pregnant or breastfeeding individuals to exercise caution when consuming herbal teas. Certain herbs may not be recommended during these times, as they can potentially affect pregnancy or lactation. Always consult with a healthcare professional before consuming herbal teas during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

Children can enjoy herbal teas, but it's important to choose mild and safe herbs. Herbal teas should be given in moderation, and it's best to consult with a pediatrician to ensure they are suitable for your child's age and health.

Herbal teas offer a myriad of potential health benefits, such as supporting the immune system, aiding in digestion, promoting relaxation, supporting sleep, reducing inflammation, and providing antioxidants.

Absolutely! You can sweeten herbal tea with anything you like, or add a slice of citrus fruit for a refreshing twist. Experiment and find what suits your taste buds best. Sweetening your tea does not take away from the benefits, however it's always wise to consume sweets in moderation.

Yes! Teas can be enjoyed both hot and cold, depending on your preference and the time of year. Hot herbal tea is comforting in colder months, while iced herbal tea can be refreshing during the summer. After a hot infusion is cooled, it doesn’t loose it’s benefit.

Store it in an airtight, UV-resistant container, like our amber glass reusable jars, away from direct sunlight, moisture, excess heat, and strong odors. Avoid storing it near spices or coffee, as the flavors can transfer. Proper storage will help maintain the flavor and potency of your tea.

    TINCTURES

A tincture is a concentrated liquid extract of an herb. It is typically made by macerating the desired material in a solvent, which can be alcohol, glycerin, or vinegar, to extract the active compounds and essential components. Tinctures are commonly used in herbal medicine and holistic health practices for their ease of use and the ability to deliver the therapeutic properties of the source material in a convenient and concentrated form. They are often administered orally, either by placing a a dropperful directly by mouth or by diluting them in a beverage. Tinctures are known for their long shelf life and the ability to preserve the potency of the source material over time.

That’s right. Our tinctures are glycerin-based tinctures, often called “glycerites.” These are liquid extracts that use glycerin as a solvent to extract and preserve the active compounds from the herbs. They are a popular choice for those who prefer a non-alcoholic option plus they taste good! We tincture all of our herbal tea blends, so you can have the benefit of the blend in a convenient on-the-go option.

Glycerin-based tinctures may be less potent than their alcohol-based counterparts depending on the formula and the plant constituents. However, they offer unique advantages, such as being non-alcoholic, making them a preferred choice for some individuals. Also, it depends on a whether what you are trying to extract is water-soluble or not. The herbs we tincture work well using this solvent.

Glycerin-based tinctures can sometimes be suitable for children and pets. Always follow the recommended dosage guidelines and consult with a veterinarian or pediatrician if you have any doubts.

To use a tincture, simply place the recommended dosage directly into your mouth. It isn’t necessary to hold under your tongue. You can also add to any beverage or glass of water.

Our tinctures are generally safe to use. Glycerin is a food-grade substance commonly found in many food and cosmetic products. However, we recommend consulting with a healthcare professional if you have specific concerns or medical conditions.

Store tinctures in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight or heat. The average shelf life is 12 - 18months. You will find a “best-by” date on your bottle.

It's essential to consult with a healthcare professional before using glycerin-based tinctures alongside prescription medications. They can advise you on potential interactions and help ensure your safety.

It's essential for pregnant or breastfeeding individuals to exercise caution when consuming herbal products. Certain herbs may not be recommended during these times, as they can potentially affect pregnancy or lactation. Always consult with a healthcare professional before consuming tinctures during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

Yes, glycerin-based tinctures are typically suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Glycerin is plant-derived, making it a suitable option for those with dietary restrictions.

Glycerin-based tinctures have a sweeter and more palatable taste compared to alcohol-based tinctures. They will still have an herbal or plant-like flavor (which in our opinion is delicious!)

    AROMATHERAPY

The essential oils we use in our formulas are certified organic, ethically wildcrafted, or conventional. Unfortunately, to offer a fair price, we can not use all organic ingredients at this time, but are striving to get to that point everyday.

Essential oils are extremely concentrated and should be used sparingly and respectfully. Our roll-on essential oils are blended with a carrier oil so it is generally safe to apply to skin. Always test on a patch of skin before full application to ensure they do not need to be further diluted for you. Also, always avoid the face and eyes.
